momohime

Finally got the true endings for both Momohime and Kisuke – nothing else left for me to do except fiddle around with the new 1 HP mode every now and then.  I remember using this exact phrase before, but if you liked Odin Sphere despite its flaws, you’ll love Oboro Muramasa. Some noteworthy things I should mention:

-The visuals. This is pretty obvious. They’re pretty much everything you were expecting, and then some. Absolutely lovely stuff, including the detailed food/eating animation which I found to be very cute. I don’t really want to spoil stuff by saying any more than that. Just look forward to it!

-The music. Nothing like awesome tunes to go with your crazy visuals. I really like how they made ‘travel’ and ‘battle’ versions of each field track and switched between them seamlessly.

-The gameplay. The controls are much more responsive this time around. Everything is fast paced – it’s pretty amazing how adding a dash can change a lot of what Odin Sphere’s melee was. Combine that with the unique specials from each katana and you can kick some ass and still stay relatively safe.

I haven’t really checked so I don’t know for sure, but if they aren’t releasing an OST for this yet soon I’ll have a game rip in .mp3 format up shortly. You can take ‘shortly’ with a grain of salt, though…
