I finished up Eternal Sonata yesterday. I -promise- I’ll post some semi-review sort of thing later…maybe. God, I loved it though. A ton more videos should be up already if you haven’t noticed. I’ve given most of them boring names like “Event 01″, etc.

I finally got around to finishing Odin Sphere. Playing on Hard Mode and choosing not to use items or Psypher Heal during boss battles really extended the game’s length and difficulty for me. I didn’t really see the point of playing Hard Mode if you still had access to items and what not during boss battles. You could just save up so many kinds of useful potions and/or grind out Psypher and HP levels beyond the norm and go crazy if you wanted to, but where’s the challenge in that?

Looking back, in addition to the problems I’ve mentioned before, I feel like the game was a bit too repetitive. You go through most of the same areas with each character over and over, and for the most part fight the same bosses as well. How many times do I have to kill General Brigan? Apparently every character except Mercedes needs a shot at the dumb brute, which is part of the reason why I love her.

I’ve still got a few things I’d like to do in there such as get Heroic Mode unlocked and get all the cutscenes, but I’ll work on it over time. I probably won’t have the motivation to do any Heroic videos if all it is is not being able to increase your HP. That’s pretty much how I tried to play it from Cornelius onward if you take into account that I beat most bosses from that point on with minimal to no damage.

Oh, I should mention that the Odin Sphere soundtrack rip from the game will be put up soon enough. I haven’t got around to naming the tracks, and I don’t feel like putting it up with “Track 01″ and other such names. I’ve been slacking on getting videos up here, it’ll be a while before everything is up and ready.

Mercedes rocks. Cornelius was okay, his spinning move was pretty much completely useless for the most part though. Oswald… Oswald can go to hell. I hate his combo finisher, I don’t want to jump INTO the monster!

Maybe I haven’t mastered it yet, but his ‘demon mode’ seems useless as well. Though I think the POW meter runs out a bit too fast when you use it, I can deal with that. What I can’t deal with is that transforming back and forth takes a second and leaves you completely vulnerable. That alone spells trouble for me, since I’m trying my best not to get hit too much in my recent videos (save Gwendolyn’s, that was a learning experience.) I can only hope Velvet’s attacks aren’t as stupid as Oswald’s. Also, LOL @ Beldor. I didn’t think there could be a boss easier than Leventhan.

On another note, the Grim Grimoire storyline has been completely uploaded to YouTube finally. I’m especially proud of the Fifth Week battles; they’re very Morning Star abusive. There’s also a couple more Odin Sphere boss battles on there as well.

One more thing: the Venus & Braves music section has been redone. Why? A very kind visitor has provided me with music rips extracted from the DVD. The collection is now complete!

Odin Sphere is a blast. Period. The only things hindering it are load times, and gameplay lag when theres too much on the map. The lag is most noticeable when fighting Gwendolyn’s final boss battle.I’ve put a couple videos up on YouTube which I’ll get up here later.
